What are you passionate about? (Tell us about a special talent/skill that you have or a cause you are active in.)

Modeling has always been a strong passion of mine. It's something that I have loved since I was a little girl and something I have never given up on. Coming from a family whose main support came from love and encouragement and not money I learned at an early age to be very hardworking and determined for what I want. My family has always been very important to me. Being multi-cultural and growing up around different types of people from all walks of life has now given me a strong sense of who I am and where I come from and has also helped me to this day to be confident in myself and my abilities to do great things. I hope to meet and hopefully exceed the standards in the modeling industry. All I need is one chance to showcase my abilities and talents and I promise you that you be won't be let down. Some models are hungry for this career, but I'm starving.

How has clear skin helped you to achieve your goals?

I have been able to take pictures and and meet with agents and castings directors knowing that the only thing they are evaluating is me, not my acne.

What is your favorite purchase made in the last 6 months?

I would without a doubt have to say The Nature's Cure 2-part Acne System. It is a great feeling to know that you can trust a product that has actually worked for you. I have tried to many things even products prescribed by a doctor but nothing has worked better than your acne and skin care system!

If you were handed $5,000, how would you spend it?

I would first give a portion of the money to an AIDS charity because AIDS is one of the growing problems in America and the World. I would also buy someone in my family something special they wanted, because my family has been there for me no matter what has happened. Lastly, I would go SHOPPING! :)

What is your must-do adventure of a lifetime?

Backpacking across Europe, nomad style!

If you were a superhero, what would be your name and super power?

The Commuter! And my power would be bringing millions of people to work and back everyday! (Gas prices are through the ROOF!! )

When you were 5, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A supermodel! And I still do!

Who do you most admire?

The person that I most admire is my grandmother. She married my grandfather when she was 18 years old and moved from Portugal to the United States shortly after. During a time when racism was still prominent and something she knew nothing of back home,she worked several dead end jobs to just barely get by. She experienced segregation, racism, and discrimination in many forms, for being a woman and a minority. She moved from country to country while my grandfather was in the military, all while raising seven children, my mother included. My grandmother is strong, persistent, and diligent in all she does. She's always encouraged me to work hard for what I want in my life and to never let anyone or anything set me off track from my goals. She's helped me in so many ways and I don't think I could admire another person so much beside her.

What are you most proud of?

My sister has always been a caring and kindhearted person. Growing up with a single parent wasn't easy for the both of us, but my sister has always been like a second mother to me. She was home schooled ninth through eleventh grade and during her last year decided to stop and work so that she could help my mother. She helped to raise me and put food on the table. Fast forward 10 years and she has gotten her GED, her associates degree, her bachelors, and is the final stages of getting her advanced placement Masters. She teaches English to eleventh and twelfth graders and has made such amazing progress in their lives at home and at school. Her deep belief that education can take you anywhere with a little hard work has inspired so many, including myself. To tie this all in together I am most proud of the fact that I can see a story like my sisters and so many others in my family and be inspired to continue to work hard for the things that I want for my life. I have never given up on my dream of modeling even when people told me for various reasons that it could not happen. I've been told from facial features to height to everything in between that modeling would not happen for me but through perseverance and God's grace I have always had hope and a strong will to carry me through.

What's something you'd like to change about yourself and why?

The one thing I'd change about myself is to be more outgoing. In the industry I'm in being soft spoken is frowned upon. I tend to be very shy when first meeting someone and sometimes I feel my personality may get lost in translation. I feel that everyone has something to offer and something new to bring to the table. There are so many people on this earth with so many different life experiences to share and to connect with, and I'd love to be apart of it.

What reality TV show would you like to be on and why?

If I could be on any reality t.v. show it would have to be The Amazing Race. I love being challenged emotionally and physically and that show covers both! When I'm faced with obstacles in my path I try my best to derive solutions to overcome them. I think that the show is a great tool to use a field practice for life itself. When you can't do something the first time, try again, if you can't do it the second time, keep trying, etc. Life is all about perseverance and being persistent and that should could definitely teach me some things!
